Vorteq® M

Transpo's Screen-Guard provides a safe and highly visible barrier over highway concrete barriers.  Screen-Guard helps to discourage people from attempting to cross highways at non designated areas and deters them from trying to climb over the concrete barriers in the center of highways.

Many states across the US are experiencing an increase in pedestrians crossing highways on foot and being struck by vehicles. In an effort to discourage these dangerous and sometimes fatal crossings, more and more DOTs are implementing ways to discourage these crossings, while maintaining a safe driving environment for vehicles.

Screen-Guard has been crash tested in accordance with MASH requirements for test levels 3 & 4. The test results were minimal damage to the Screen-Guard, zero passenger compartment intrusion and no debris scatter into the opposing traffic lanes. Repairs to the test installation was completed in less than one hour and returned to full service.

The key to Screen-Guards performance comes from its unique double-reversed corrugated (DRC) fabric, formed from hot-dipped galvanized sheet steel, and can be installed up to forty-eight inches. The DRC fabric is powder-coated to provide additional protection from salt and snow.

DRC Fabric: Screen-Safe® is fabricated from 25 gauge steel sheet, AISI 1010 or 1008, and hot-dip galvanized to ASTM A-653, coating designation G90. The finish is a light gray, medium-gloss powder-coat with zinc. It conforms to ASTM D 523 for gloss and B 117 for salt spray resistance, reference test for Bonderite. The film thickness minimum is 1.8 mils.

All hardware components are structural grade.

Common Applications for Transpo Complete Concrete Repair System

Parking Structures

Parking structures are regularly exposed to oil, dirt, salt deicers, and more. They must be able to withstand these conditions, and often require regular maintenance and repairs. Temperature fluctuations and vehicle loading can cause cracking that allow water infiltration, which accelerates concrete deterioration.

Transpo Complete is a total durable concrete repair system for parking structures that will prevent these types of issues, while also reducing long-term maintenance costs. We offer a wide variety of product options that can be used in different configurations based on the project’s specific requirements. Transpo’s T-17 MMA Polymer Concrete patching material, Sealate® HMWM and T-78 MMA crack sealers, T-18 MMA overlay and Color-Safe® MMA pavement marking are examples of Transpo products that can be used in parking structures. Durable, and long lasting, Transpo Complete will restore the concrete surface to an as new condition.

Train Platforms

Commuter rail platforms are an important component of the economy in many metropolitan areas. Many of the train platforms are very old and in poor repair, which can create a safety hazard and potential liability. Continuous daily use of the platforms can make maintenance and rehabilitation difficult. Concrete cracking, spalling, and loss of proper friction are among the common failures.

Transpo Complete addresses these issues and offers a complete rehabilitation solution for train platforms. Using weather-resistant, chemical-resistant materials, concrete surfaces become new and safe with a customized look and friction based on project specifications. The use of rapid curing materials makes repairs and rehabilitation possible during off-peak hours.

Marinas

Marina slip ramps often develop cracks over time. Continuous water motion creates a path for water to penetrate, and this promotes reinforcing steel corrosion, which can lead to concrete deterioration.

Transpo’s Sealate® (HMWM) or T-78 MMA are designed to seal large and micro cracks in concrete. These two materials have different degrees of elongation and cure times; however, both successfully penetrate deep into cracks and form a permanent seal and a waterproof surface. Our team of experts will work with marinas to develop a finish coat using Transpo Color-Safe® pavement marking and surface material in the desired color. The result is an aesthetically pleasing finished surface that reduces water penetration and offers a slip-resistance surface. Color-Safe® can be easily maintained with regular high-pressure washing.

Train Platforms

Train Platforms

It’s a common site: people waiting for the train, looking down at their phones or feet … and noticing the platform they are standing on. In a Bloomberg article about the state of U.S. transit (being so bad), we are taken through a timeline of the rise, fall, and questionable maintenance of a mediocre system. What is striking is the age of most mass transit systems. The article notes “The Age of Rail” from 1850 to the 1930s and states, “Much of New York City and Philadelphia’s subways, Chicago’s ‘L,’ and Boston’s ‘T’ were built in this era.” Think about how old some of that infrastructure is. The next push for transit work is dubbed “The Transit Revival” from the 1960s to 1980s. While there are some advancements from the 1980s to today with commuter rail and light rail builds, the vast majority of the infrastructure is very dated.

Consider that from a structural integrity and aesthetic perspective. It’s not uncommon that one of these conditions will expose the other’s need for rehabilitation. And even if an aesthetically compromised train platform is not indicative of a structural integrity issue, it’s motivation enough to repair it. Multiple issues, such as cracks, holes, and unlevel “ponding” spots, can be easily corrected and repaired, offering complete rehabilitation of your concrete surface.

[PRODUCT NAME] will repair platforms and leave concrete surfaces looking new and safe with a weather-resistant, chemical-resistant, durable surface with a customized look and friction based on project specifications.

Parking Structures

Parking Structures

Built to accommodate hundreds of cars, with almost constant traffic bringing with it a host of environmental elements—oil, dirt, water, salt de-icers, etc.—concrete parking structures are expected to withstand conditions that require upkeep and repair. Temperature fluctuations alone can compromise a well-built concrete structure over time, causing cracks that can allow water infiltration, which will create larger fractures that will seriously distress a concrete parking structure, especially if it reaches the steel rebar. A complete high-strength concrete repair system for parking structures is vital to proper maintenance.

Our concrete rehabilitation products can be applied in a number of different systems for your particular structural issues. Transpo’s T-17 is renowned for its ability to repair existing concrete. Flood-coating the surface with Sealate® or T-78 crack sealer seals the surface; then applying a final coat of Color-Safe® pavement marking material that both waterproofs and creates the uniform look of new concrete completes the process, making for a comprehensive rehabilitation of the surface.

Safety Warning!

There are more than 212,000 highway-rail grade crossings in the United States. According to the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), deaths resulting from highway-rail grade crossing collisions and trespasser events account for approximately 95 percent of all rail-related fatalities each year.

A joint study with U.S. DOT and other safety organizations evaluated the effectiveness of roadway pavement markings placed within the dynamic envelope, the region between and immediately adjacent to the tracks at a highway-rail grade crossing. The results of their study indicated that the addition of the dynamic envelope pavement markings and modified signage reduced the number of vehicles that stopped within the dynamic envelope zone and increased the number of vehicles that stopped properly—safely behind the stop line.

Dynamic envelope pavement markings are an effective way to increase safe stopping behavior and safety for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic at highway-rail grade crossings.

Durable, Skid, and Chemical-Resistant, Bright Color for Your Safety Program

Safety markings at industrial sites are used to delineate aisles and safety areas. They must clearly define the space and they must be durable and remain visible to fulfill their safety purpose. Color-Safe® is a methyl methacrylate-based (MMA) material that when mixed with the various aggregates creates a durable, skid, and chemical-resistant, bright color for your safety program.

Color-Safe® is an alternative durable material to products that have not worked in the past.

A global manufacturer—one of the world’s largest in its industry—needed to remedy a facility-wide safety issue when their yellow safety walkways and lines began to wear prematurely. They replaced these worn walkways using Color-Safe® MMA with the unique “No Track” coating on top of the yellow Color-Safe® material. It provides the highest protection against forklift traffic, pallets, and repelling dirt. No other material used in heavy-use production or warehouse facilities can compare.

“The paint and warehouse tape were not lasting very long, so we were looking for something more durable. It has to be non-skid because it is in an area where all the workers walk. It also has to hold up to concrete floor cleaners. There is a lot of water used to keep the floor clean!” – Plant Manager
Color-Safe® is the product plant managers and owners look to for safety and sustainability!
